At Eastbourne House Arts we provide rehearsal space to artists of all kinds.
We occupy the first to third floors of Eastbourne House, and share our office with our sister charity, the Globe Community Project. The ground floor of Eastbourne House is occupied by a local community club.
Eastbourne House Arts is an activity of Triratna Arts, a Buddhist arts charity which aims to support the work of artists within the Triratna Buddhist Order and Community. We are hosted by the London Buddhist Arts Centre, a centre of the Triratna Buddhist Community.
Our rehearsal spaces are open to all arts practitioners to hire, Buddhist or not, as long as your aims are broadly compatible with ours!
We also let a number of smaller studios to practicing Buddhist artists. We hope to help provide the conditions for the radical exploration and communication of Buddhism through a range of forms of artistic expression – currently we have painters, sculptors, writers, performance and new media artists tenanting our studios.
Buddhist practitioners also use our larger studios to teach artistic skills, and share experience. In time we hope to re-establish the programme of workshops, seminars, lectures, performances and exhibitions across a range of artistic disciplines established by the London Buddhist Arts Centre.
